Two Brothers One Passion Working Together at GWS
Manuel and Guilherme, two brothers from Portugal, share more than just family ties, they are also teammates at Global Wind Service (GWS), working side by side on wind turbine projects in Sweden.
Manuel was the first to join GWS nine years ago. “I heard good things about the company and decided to give it a try,” he says. His experience was so positive that he encouraged his younger brother to join. “I told him to come work with me,” Manuel adds. Guilherme took his advice and didn’t look back. “Manuel spoke so highly of GWS, and I’m glad I listened,” he shares.
Working together as brothers has been a unique and rewarding experience. “We work well together,” Manuel says simply. Guilherme agrees, adding, “It’s been great. He’s taught me so much!”
Both brothers agree that the training they have received help them a lot to grow into the roles they hold today. “It’s perfect,” Manuel says. Guilherme, who still remembers his time at the GWS Academy fondly, adds, “The instructors, the food, the environment, everything was excellent. Aleksandra , Head of Global Wind Service Academy, in particular, helped me a lot.”
When it comes to what they love most about their jobs, their answers reflect their personalities. Manuel enjoys the dynamic nature of the wind industry, while Guilherme loves working outdoors and the chance to travel. “It’s a new experience and a new industry for me,” Guilherme says.
Of course, the job has its challenges. For Manuel, being away from home and dealing with tough weather conditions can be hard. Guilherme, on the other hand, had to adjust to the physical demands of the job. “Body fatigue was tough at first, but it’s getting better every day,” he says.
Despite these challenges, there have been plenty of proud moments. For Manuel, it’s the joy of working alongside his brother. Guilherme, meanwhile, feels proud every time he sees Manuel leading installations. “Watching the way he works is inspiring,” he says.
Manuel and Guilherme’s story shows how GWS isn’t just a workplace, it’s a place where people can grow, learn, and even share the journey with family. Their bond, both as brothers and colleagues, is a great example of it.
