Global Wind Service strengthens North American presence with expansion into Canada

Global Wind Service (GWS) is expanding its North American footprint with the establishment of a local business unit in Canada, marking the next step in the company’s continued growth across the region.

The expansion builds on GWS’ established presence in the United States and reflects the company’s ambition to support customers across North America with proven wind turbine installation and service capabilities, local execution strength, and the flexibility required for complex renewable energy projects.

Canada represents an important opportunity for GWS as demand for experienced wind project partners continues to develop across the market. By establishing a Canadian presence, GWS will be better positioned to work closely with customers, partners, and local stakeholders while drawing on the company’s extensive international experience.

GWS has maintained a permanent presence in North America since 2017, when the company established its U.S. office and local business unit as part of its international growth strategy. Initially focused on onshore installation and repowering projects, the U.S. organization has since developed into a strong regional platform supporting both onshore and offshore execution. This includes experience from landmark U.S. offshore wind projects such as Block Island, Coastal Virginia Offshore Wind, Vineyard Wind 1, and South Fork, Dominion as well as continued activity across the onshore market.

Across North America and globally, GWS provides wind turbine installation and service solutions across the project lifecycle, including onshore and offshore installation, commissioning, service and maintenance, blade services, high-voltage services, repowering, and specialized project execution.
