GlobalConnect unites IT and Technology under new CTIO, Alexander Hoffmann
GlobalConnect has appointed Alexander Hoffmann as Group Chief Technology & Information Officer (CTIO) and Senior Vice President, effective October 1, 2025.
To accelerate its next strategic phase, GlobalConnect is uniting IT, Technology, and Engineering under one leadership structure and has appointed Alexander Hoffmann as Group Chief Technology & Information Officer (CTIO) and Senior Vice President. The new setup within GlobalConnect’s NetCo organization will enable the acceleration of creating one harmonized network, more standardized products, and greater automation in order management, delivery, and service fulfillment.
“Networks are becoming increasingly software- and IT-driven, and our future growth in the B2B market will rely on products built on software platforms. This calls for closer collaboration between our IT and technology teams. Therefore, we are gathering Group IT, Technology and Engineering under one leader,” said Per Morten Torvildsen, EVP of NetCo at GlobalConnect. “Alexander’s strong background in software development, enterprise architecture, and next-generation networks makes him the right person to lead this critical transformation.”
Technology-driven executive with a computer science background
Hoffmann joins GlobalConnect from Juniper Networks, where he headed the company’s AI-driven enterprise WAN portfolio across EMEA. Prior to that, he built and led the EMEA business for 128 Technology, a Boston-based SD-WAN startup later acquired by Juniper. He also held senior product leadership roles at Oracle and Acme Packet, following the successful sale of IPTEGO, a VoIP analytics company he co-founded. Hoffmann holds a degree in Computer Science from the Technical University of Berlin and is currently based in Berlin but will relocate with his wife and two children to Copenhagen.
“I am truly excited to join GlobalConnect at such a pivotal time,” said Alexander Hoffmann. “The company has established itself as a key player in Northern Europe’s digital infrastructure, and I look forward to working with the team to build the next-generation networks and IT platforms that will support both our customers and society’s growing digital needs.”
As part of the structural changes, Marie-Josée Leblond will be leaving her position as CIO of GlobalConnect.
