Green Mountain publishes 2025 sustainability report
Green Mountain has published its 2025 sustainability report. The report marks an important step forward in how the company works with sustainability across environmental, social and governance (ESG) areas, and how it measures and reports its progress.
This year marks an important step forward. For the first time, the report is aligned with the EU’s Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) and the European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS). This means that sustainability data is now handled with the same level of structure and control as financial data.
Clearer structure and better data
The new reporting framework makes it easier to understand Green Mountain’s impact. It also provides stakeholders with more consistent and comparable information.
– Improving how we measure and report sustainability helps us make better decisions, says Torkild Follaug, Sustainability Director at Green Mountain. – It gives us a clearer picture of where we are and where we need to improve.
Progress and highlights
The report highlights continued development in several areas:
- Energy and climate: All operations continue to run on renewable electricity
- Efficiency and resource use: Ongoing improvements help reduce energy use and optimise operations.
- Heat reuse: Projects are moving from planning to actual implementation, including Green Mountain’s collaboration with Hima Seafood in Rjukan, where excess heat from the data center is reused in land-based trout production.
- People and organisation: The company continues to invest in employees, training, and competence development.
Supporting a growing digital world
Demand for data centers is increasing. At the same time, expectations for sustainability are rising. Green Mountain aims to meet this demand with solutions that combine high performance with low climate and environmental impact. The company also continues to focus on contributing positively to local communities.
