Grand Opening Ceremony Hack for Earth

We invite you to join the Grand Opening Ceremony of the biggest hackathon ever to find real solutions to the United Nations 17 Sustainable Development Goals - Hack for Earth! Link to livestream is hackforearth.com/live.

More than 4000 people from 100+ countries are joining our mission to #hackforearth. 870+ teams have made it through the application process and are accepted to compete. For two weeks the teams will work on their chosen challenge within one of the seven challenge categories: Human Rights, Health, Environment, Sustainable Society, Education, Water and Partnership. In collaboration with the Swedish Pavilion and the United Nations at the world exhibition Expo2020 in Dubai, Hack for Earth will find real solutions for our future.

DREAM FOR EARTH

The challenges in the hackathon Hack for Earth was created based on the result of the global Dream for Earth campaign. Close to 150 million people have seen the Dream for Earth campaign. We have analyzed over a thousand (1000) dreams for our future from more than sixty (60) countries, to find out how they are connected to the United Nations 17 Sustainable Development Goals and what people are dreaming about in different countries.

HACK FOR EARTH

The Hack for Earth hackathon is a global online hackathon that will run for two weeks from October 22 – November 7 with focus on finding real solutions to the 17 United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals. Throughout the two week hackathon period all teams will brainstorm, concept develop and work together to create a solution that is in line with the jury criteria and that could be implemented to become real tools for the good of society.

All 870+ teams will have access to mentors within a wide range of expertise, workshops on relevant topics, open data, statitstics, reports and information on relevant subjects and other support from the partner community to be able to create the best solutions for our future.

BUILD FOR EARTH

Hack for Earth Foundation’s core values are sustainability, diversity and most of all – impact. This is why the winners of Hack for Earth will be given the best possible support to become real tools for the good of society.
