The Intense concept consists of clothing, shoes and equipment that have been developed to help maximize performance. 19FOURTEEN is Haglöfs’ Outdoor Lifestyle concept – a concept that includes shoes, clothing, backpacks and bags for an active everyday life. This spring Haglöfs is introducing its first 19FOURTEEN collection which features products that are intended for use during the warmer months of the year in the borderland between the city and nature.
L.I.M is a unique Haglöfs concept. A concept that can best be described as a minimalistic outdoor life. This includes activities that often take place over a shorter period of time and not infrequently at a faster tempo. This primarily means activities where low weight is a top priority and only the absolute essentials have been added to the products. Less is more, quite simply.
When the goal is to get to the top of the mountain and down again as quickly as possible – this is becoming the ultimate challenge on the mountain for more and more people. It is an extreme form of climbing that requires experience and top physical condition. It also does not allow for mistakes of any kind, whether in preparation, training, execution or equipment.
Haglöfs has signed British adventurer Alastair Humphreys as a new Haglöfs Friend. Alastair’s’ adventures have taken him all over the world and in 2012 Alastair was named a National Geographic Adventurer of the Year for his pioneering concept "microadventure".
Haglöfs has signed Finnish freeride snowboarder Antti Autti as a new Haglöfs Friend. Antti is one of the world’s best-known snowboarders, famous for setting new standards in men’s halfpipe competitions and originator of the “1080 Revolution”. Today, Antti Autti is also an appreciated snowboard film producer.
Haglöfs withdraws its hiking boot Grym from the stores based on the background that Greenpeace, in a review of outdoor products, found high levels of the fluorocarbon PFOA in the boot. Fluorocarbons is a group of chemicals that are used to make products water and dirt repellent. The concentration of the fluorocarbon PFOA was higher than the allowed limits in Norway.
For Fall 2016, Haglöfs’ selection will cover all types of winter activities and environments, from thin, protective products for adrenaline-pumping activities in mild climates to thick, warm garments that can withstand extreme cold.
2015 was a successful year for Haglöfs, with many victories – both minor and major. One of the most important of these is the company’s return to profitable growth, which is a result of the change programme initiated in 2014. Work now continues unrelenting in the pursuit of taking Haglöfs to the next level.
One of the challenges to the art of staying warm is deciding between a down jacket and a jacket with synthetic insulation. New innovative solutions mean that old truths are no longer indisputable. The choice has not necessarily become easier – but there are more alternatives.
