Change to Havila Capella’s timetable

Following a technical problem with one of Havila Capella’s side gates, the planned day sailing between Ålesund and Urke will be cancelled on Saturday 3rd of September, while the issue is rectified.

“We never compromise on the safety of our passengers, employees or our ships. As soon as the problem was discovered, it was agreed with Det Norske Veritas, the Tersan shipyard and the supplier to temporarily close the gate for use” says managing director Bent Martini.

Havila Capella will depart as planned from Bergen on Friday 2nd of September at 20.30 and will then sail to Ålesund. Here the passengers will disembark the ship, which then sails to the shipyard in Hareid.

“We are happy that we can rectify the issue so quickly. Ulmatec expects the work to be done in a few hours during Saturday. On completion of the repair, we will work with Det Norske Veritas are to approve the repair, and our plan is to be on schedule again from Ålesund at 20.00 Saturday evening. Unfortunately, this means that the first sailing of the year to Urke and the Hjørundfjord will not take place on this cruise”, Martini explains.

All passengers on board are offered a guided boat trip to Hjørundfjord with the sightseeing boat Geirangerfjord II and a one-hour stopover in Urke at no extra cost.

“We sincerely hope that our guests understand that we have to put safety first, and that they enjoy the alterative we`ve found for those who still wish to experience the Hjørundfjord”, he concludes.
