Havila Castor cancels ongoing round-trip

The coastal cruise ship Havila Castor is facing technical issues and will stay in Ålesund until the issue has been resolved. The reminder of the ongoing round-trip is therefore cancelled.

On Monday, a technical issue was discovered on board the Havila Castor, which is currently docked in Ålesund. The issue needs to be resolved before the ship can resume operations along the Norwegian coast.

"Our supplier is in the process of procuring the spare part we need to operate the ship safely. We expect to get that to Ålesund within the next day. However, it will also take a few days to install this part, which unfortunately means we must cancel the remainder of the ongoing round-trip for Havila Castor," says CEO Bent Martini.

"We will, of course, investigate this matter thoroughly and identify the cause of the technical issue in close collaboration with the system supplier."

Havila Castor will remain in Ålesund for the time being and will resume operation on the southbound route during the night of December 14th. The departure from Bergen on December 14th will go as planned.

All affected passengers will be contacted by Havila Voyages.

Experience the Norwegian coast with the most environmentally friendly cruise company

In December 2021 Havila Voyages started sailing the most environmentally friendly ships on the Norwegian coast between Bergen and Kirkenes. We sail through narrow fjords and on the high seas, past steep mountains and weathered islets, under the Northern Lights and the midnight sun.
