The City of Helsingborg in southern Sweden is a finalist in the European Capital of Innovation Awards 2020, also known as iCapital. This is an annual prize awarded to the European city that is best able to demonstrate its ability to harness innovation to improve the lives of its residents. Other finalists include cities such as Vienna, Milan, and Valencia.
On the 5th to 6th of November we’re welcoming both local and international media representatives to H22 Summit. This is a two day conference focusing on how we can work together, over national boundaries and across themes and occupations, to create a smarter and more sustainable city. On the speakers list you’ll find experts from New York City, UNECE, Amsterdam and Hamburg – to name just a few.
The Swedish city of Helsingborg has presented the first of the businesses and organizations that intend to collaborate with the city on the journey towards the city expo H22 – A Smarter City. 40 different organizations can be found on the list, among others Microsoft, IBM, IKEA and the OECD initiative OPSI (Observatory for Public Sector Innovation).
HRH Crown Princess Victoria has chosen to undertake a patronage of H22 - A Smarter City, supporting the city's development work towards 2022 and the city expo H22.
The City Council in Helsingborg has decided to invest SEK 250 million (just over EUR 23 million) in H22, a welfare solution for the future. This is an investment in innovation and the development of new, smarter and more efficient ways to solve the challenges of tomorrow.
