Press release -

How 12 years of research has developed industrial companies in the county

Now, the researchers themselves inform us about the results from the centre that was founded in 2009 at University of Gävle to develop and renew the region’s industrial companies.

In co-production with a hundred industrial companies, around 20 researchers have developed cutting-edge knowledge and industrial applications for the future.

“This is a response to the challenges of digitalisation, globalization and climate change, especially for small and medium-sized industrial companies,” says Lars Bengtsson, professor and director for the Centre for Logistics and Innovative Production.

Three strategic areas

The project focused on three strategic areas: smart production, sustainable logistics systems and open innovation processes.

“We have chosen to focus our research on areas that are of particular importance for competitiveness and good working conditions for companies in our county,” Lars Bengtsson says.

Logistics

2017 Swedish industry moves production home
2017 Customer demand moves production home again
2018 Robotisation and kit-packs a winning team
2018 Greener transport needs people to talk to each other
2020 Collaboration may not always be the key for “greener” logistics

Smart production

2018 Course in Human Lean halved sick-leave numbers
2020 Investment in health increased Scania’s production

A sustainable world

2017 Rodrigo Lozano and the vision of a sustainable living environment
2018 University of Gävle’s work for sustainable programmes wins first prize in USA
2020 How to turn Port of Gävle into a unique, sustainable port
2021 Leasing instead of buying chemicals would make wonders for the environment

Three digital conferences

Register here for three online conferences in May in which the research group will present their results

Centre for Logistics and Innovative Production (CLIP) is a research centre at University of Gävle with about 20 researchers and consultants founded in 2009 with the aim of contributing to more efficient logistics, production and innovation to increase competitiveness in especially small and medium-sized industrial companies in the region.
