Snickers Workwear strengthens its presence in Europe
Snickers Workwear takes the next step in its growth journey through a strategic investment in key competencies and increased production capacity in Latvia.
“We are making this investment to strengthen both our expertise and production capacity close to our core markets. This means we can respond more rapidly to customer needs, reduce lead times and improve quality. It reinforces both our offering and our delivery performance”, says Andreas Ytterdal, Managing Director at Snickers Workwear.
Increased flexibility and delivery reliability
Local production in Europe enables Snickers Workwear to create a more flexible and resilient supply chain, reducing vulnerability to global disruptions while enhancing customer service. It helps reduce the risk of overproduction and supports a more resource-efficient production model, enabling growth without increasing environmental impact - an essential factor in achieving both business success and sustainability goals.
Focus on advanced materials
The investment is also a key step toward developing Snickers Workwear´s technical knit product range – advanced knitted materials with high functionality, designed to provide skilled craftsmen with optimal comfort during active workdays across varying climates. The goal is to increase the share of European production to match the level already achieved for woven garments.
“There is strong demand for our innovative technical knit products. By bringing production in-house, we can develop new styles, sizes and colours faster – meeting more customer needs without compromising on either quality or delivery performance”, says Andreas Ytterdal.
Investment aligned with sustainability strategy
This investment strengthens Snickers Workwear’s position in line with its sustainability strategy. The production units will meet high standards for social responsibility under the Hultafors Group’s Code of Conduct, and will be certified according to ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and SA8000 – for quality, environmental care and social accountability.
Proximity to Snickers Workwear’s distribution center in Poland enables more efficient logistics and shorter transport distances for delivering finished products to customers.
Expanded capacity and capabilities
The acquisition of the machine park, with the capacity to recruit up to 120 local employees will result in two units, a highly specialized production facility and a Research and Development (R&D) hub focused on material optimization, sustainable sourcing of raw materials and the development of small-batch production.
By acquiring machinery and recruiting local employees, Snickers Workwear expands its operations in Latvia – securing key expertise and maintaining proximity to its European markets. The investment will be completed in August, with production ramp-up during the fall.
