Solid Gear challenges the linearity of safety footwear with the Revo 3 Air Low and Circular Performance Chassis™

Solid Gear today announces the launch of the Revo 3 Air Low, the first safety shoe powered by the Circular Performance Chassis™. Developed under the Project Circuit initiative, the shoe represents a shift toward a more circular era of safety footwear.

Engineering a Solution.
“Making a safety shoe circular is a balancing act on the brink of the impossible,” says Johan Magnusson, Product Development & Supply Chain Manager at Solid Gear. “Traditional construction makes them a nightmare to recycle; so most end up in landfills or incinerators. We’re taking on the challenge of trying to change that.”

The result is the Circular Performance Chassis™, a modular sole unit designed for both elite work performance and recyclability. By utilizing Supercritical Foaming – a process that expands TPU using nitrogen – Solid Gear has eliminated the need for adhesives. Outsole, midsole, and shank are molded into a single, monomaterial TPU unit, delivering the signature energy return and comfort synonymous with Solid Gear.

The vessel.
The Revo 3 Air Low merges elite-running DNA with uncompromising industrial safety. "We designed the Revo 3 Air Low like a supercar," says Richard Parent, Senior Footwear Designer. "Every gram serves a purpose in the pursuit of performance.”

The shoe’s 3-piece Circuit Components layup delivers a precise balance of energy, stability, and grip. Combined with a seamless MATRYX® upper and a BOA® Fit System, workers remain safe, fast, and comfortable throughout the shift.

Closing the circuit.
Each pair features a QR code for easy entry into Solid Gear’s recycling circuit, providing send-back reminders and access to free return shipping labels. In collaboration with partners, Solid Gear has also established take-back boxes to make the return process seamless.

Inside the EU-based circuit, worn-out sole units are ground down, compounded, and injected into new Circular Performance Chassis™. "Every part was designed for recyclability from day one," adds Sustainability Manager Anna Olsson. "By isolating the TPU in-house, we ensure the material stays in our loop.”

Honesty as a North Star.
Despite the breakthrough, Solid Gear remains candid about the road ahead. "We want to be honest: we don’t have a 100% circular safety shoe yet," Magnusson concludes. "But the Revo 3 Air Low embodies our direction and how we envision the future of our industry.”

Manufactured in Portugal, the Revo 3 Air Low will be available in select stores starting beg May 2026.
