HX Expeditions extends ‘Greenland Promise’ across all 2027 sailings on Greenland National Day (Ullortuneq)
HX expands booking reassurance across its full 2027 Greenland programme while celebrating the destination with a new YouTube storytelling series.
London, 18 June 2026 – Marking Greenland National Day (Ullortuneq) this Sunday 21 June, HX Expeditions, the world’s longest-running expedition cruise company, has announced it is extending its well-received HX Greenland Promise to all Greenland sailings in 2027, while also launching a new YouTube storytelling series celebrating the destination’s culture and communities.
The extended reassurance now applies across every Greenland sailing in HX’s 2026 and 2027 programme, including dedicated East and West Greenland departures as well as broader expedition itineraries featuring the destination, giving guests and trade partners greater confidence when planning travel. Originally launched in January, the HX Greenland Promise means that, if a Greenland sailing in 2026 or 2027 is cancelled by HX – or if a guest’s government advises against travel – guests can transfer to another HX voyage, receive an additional 20% Future Cruise Credit, or opt for a full refund.
Alongside this announcement, HX is marking Greenland National Day with the launch of a dedicated four-part YouTube series, Kalaallit: Portraits of Greenland. The series shares different perspectives from Greenlandic voices, celebrating the destination’s culture, communities and identity. More information on the series can be found here.
“Greenland remains one of the world’s most extraordinary countries in the Arctic, yet it remains a travel destination many have yet to discover,” said Karin Strand, VP of Expedition Development for HX and Greenland product owner. "We created Kalaallit: Portraits of Greenland to help change that in the most authentic way possible. Rather than telling Greenland’s story from the outside, we wanted Greenlanders to share their own personal perspectives, experiences and connections to their home, giving audiences a more human, honest and meaningful introduction to this remarkable destination.”
HX has built deep operational and community ties across Greenland and remains the largest expedition cruise operator in the destination by passenger numbers, according to Air Greenland, while also holding the leading market share in the Arctic expedition cruise sector, according to Cruise Industry News. Through responsibly operated voyages, HX connects guests with Greenland’s landscapes, culture and communities, and in 2025 alone brought more than 2,500 guests to the destination.
HX, alongside its charity arm, the HX Foundation, has been instrumental in supporting community initiatives through its longstanding partnership with the Association of Greenlandic Children. Over the past seven years, the partnership has supported youth programmes, summer camps, initiatives for children experiencing difficult circumstances and educational development. Together, these efforts create safe and supportive environments where young people can build confidence, develop skills and shape their futures.
“Greenland is one of the most extraordinary destinations anywhere in the world, and 2027 is a fantastic time to experience it with HX,” said Gebhard Rainer, CEO of HX Expeditions. “Guests can expect awe-inspiring landscapes, deep cultural connection and the confidence that comes from travelling with one of the most experienced expedition operators in the region. By extending the HX Greenland Promise to all Greenland sailings in 2027, we are giving travellers even more reassurance to book with confidence and discover this remarkable destination for themselves.”
