Press release -

Danish home retail brand, JYSK, today announces seven more store openings in the first half of 2020.

Following the opening of its first five Irish stores in 2019, Danish home retail brand, JYSK, today announces seven more store openings in the first half of 2020. The next two stores will open in Waterford on Thursday, 27th February, and Limerick on Thursday, 26th March. Following this, JYSK has its sights set on opening stores in Sligo, Carlow and Dublin, plus two stores in Cork city, during summer 2020. JYSK will create more than 70 full-time jobs with the opening of these new stores.

Last year, JYSK announced that it would open 15 stores across Ireland. However, due to its success in the Irish market, the Danish retailer is now set to open 40 JYSK stores over the next three to five years, with a forecasted turnover of €70 million, creating hundreds of new jobs.

Commenting on the announcement of seven new store locations in Ireland in the first half of 2020, Roni Tuominen, Country Manager at JYSK Ireland, said: “The appetite for JYSK in Ireland continues to grow, and we continue to receive a warm welcome and a great response to our offering. Our goal is to establish new JYSK locations in towns and cities all over Ireland, so we can contribute to the local economy, especially in smaller communities where our job creation will be extremely valuable. We’re looking forward to bringing JYSK to Waterford and Limerick in early 2020, along with more new locations in the summer.”

Founded in Denmark in 1979 by Lars Larsen, JYSK’s Scandinavian design ethic and stylish approach to interiors has made the brand known and loved across the world. Over the past four decades, JYSK has expanded to 51 countries, with more than 2,700 stores worldwide employing 23,000 people.
