Ministry of works, Government of United republic of Tanzania, has issued a request for Expressions of Interest for consulting services for the Dar Es Salaam Bus Rapid Transit System Project. Tendersontime, a leading business information provider is the first agency to announce this development.

The Government of the United Republic of Tanzania has received loans from the African Development Bank (AfDB) and the African Growing Together Fund (AGTF) to finance the

project. Part of these funds is appropriated towards the payment for the consultancy services.

The scope of the consultancy includes design review to ensure correctness, completeness and compliance with national and international standards, construction supervision of the second phase of the Dar Es Salaam Bus Rapid Transit System lot 1: road works 20.3 km including two fly overs and bus stations along the road and to ensure that the works comply with the approved design, drawings, specifications, conditions of contract and sound engineering practice.

The supervision will also include review of the proposed traffic deviations and arrangements during the construction so as to ensure minimum disruption.

Finally it will also include the making of the final construction report, maintenance activities during the defect liability period, and the preparation of the Project Completion report,

The Tanzania National Roads Agency (TANROADS) the Executive Agency of the Ministry of Works has invited eligible Consultants to express their interest in providing the above mentioned services. The qualification criteria include information of handling similar assignments, managerial and technical skills. The consultant or consortium must have handled at least three similar projects in the last ten years, while having worked in any developing country in the last two years. Participation in this bid is restricted Member Countries of the African Development Bank only, and the selection process will be in accordance with the rules and procedures of the ADB. The deadline for submission is 10.00 am of 12^th January 2016.
