RYTHM CSR arm of QNET wins Silver at CSR Times Awards

QNET CSR arm Rythm – The award-winning project “Economic Empowerment of Women in Eastern India through Microenterprises,” which was launched by the RYTHM Foundation in cooperation with the Parinaama Development Foundation in 2018, has aided around 10,000 women in rural Bihar, Jharkhand, and Odisha.

The grassroots development initiative of the three-year project promotes women to better their level of living by utilizing social mobilization and skill-building initiatives. The Parinaama Development Foundation, the implementation partner on the ground, identified women who were trained in two areas to assist them in starting their own microenterprise.

The Parinaama Development Foundation, which is the implementation partner on the ground, identified women who were separated into groups of 2500 and trained in the technical and business skills needed to start their microenterprise. In addition, self-help clubs were formed in each state to assist women in their quest for economic independence.

Thanks to community relations initiatives, this project will be able to sustain itself beyond the RYTHM Foundation’s support. Building a network of female entrepreneurs and clients assures that the women will stick together in the long run, allowing the microenterprises to operate efficiently. “The programme has also built manufacturing spaces and marketing links to ensure the long-term viability of their businesses,” says Santhi Periasamy, the RYTHM Foundation’s Executive Director.

The program’s success is evidenced by the beneficial impact it has had on over 10,000 women who have been able to start their own businesses or find work as a result of the program’s capacity development efforts. Women in these communities have also expressed a higher sense of self-awareness in managing themselves and their teams, in addition to the financial and economic gains.

The CSR Times Awards honour high-impact CSR initiatives from businesses, charities, non-governmental organizations, government and public sector agencies, and people.

In 17 categories, the awards honour outstanding projects from across India.

Malou Caluza, CEO of QNET, commented on the win, saying, “Raise Yourself To Help Mankind, or RYTHM, is ultimately about self-empowerment. The RYTHM purpose is ingrained in our DNA at QNET. We are quite pleased with the work of the RYTHM Foundation, which has been relentlessly working on programs that focus on not only empowering women, but also contributing to a world that is gender equitable, sustainable, and socially inclusive.”
