Press release -

Investing for the Future

A strategic plan designed to strengthen Innovia Films’ overall future business performance has been approved by the board of directors. This multi-million Euro investment programme is in response to the continued business success, despite today’s challenging economic environment and the desire to strengthen the organisation’s position in its chosen markets.

The initiatives identified have been selected to improve production flexibility, enhance production performance, reduce lead times and update internal processes and systems.  They include:

·         Coating capacity is being increased at the Wigton site. Work is underway with additional capability to come on-stream during quarter three, 2011. This improvement is being achieved by upgrading and expanding existing assets through innovative technical redesign work. ·         In parallel, new pioneering technologies are being tested and invested in to further expand coating capability specifically for the pressure sensitive label market. Slitting capabilities are being up-graded to include a new Atlas overhead slitter which is currently being commissioned.

“Increased demand for products right across the business has forced us to rethink best practices and take stock of future needs to ensure that the business remains strong moving forward. We have listened to the voice of our customers and decided action was required now to strengthen our capabilities and expand capacity,” explained Alexander van 't Riet, Global Sales and Marketing Director.
