    Scale to assess Covid-19 fears could help save lives

    A scale that assesses fear of Covid-19 among the general population has been developed by an international team of researchers led by Amir Pakpour, affiliated researcher at the School of Health and Welfare, Jönköping University. The scale is now being used in research in over 30 countries worldwide and hopes to identify the need for education and support for those affected by the pandemic.

    New collaboration between Jönköping University and North Park University

    Jönköping University Enterprise (JUE) and North Park University (NPU), Chicago, USA, have entered into a collaboration agreement regarding Pathway Programmes. JUE will provide Pathway Programmes at Campus Gränna for prospective NPU students. Students will receive a conditional offer to NPU and upon successful completion of the programme, they will be admitted into a pre-selected programme at NPU.

    A new study from researchers at the School of Health and Welfare, Jönköping University and Lund University have investigated suicide cases reported to the Swedish Health and Social Care Inspectorate (Inspektionen för vård och omsorg) in 2015. The results show that healthcare deficiencies have contributed to these deaths by suicide in 55% of cases.

    On 4-6 June 2020, the European Media Management Conference, emma2020, will be hosted by MMTC research centre at Jönköping International Business School (JIBS), Jönköping University.     The academic ceremony concluded Jönköping University's 25th anniversary

    Oct 12, Jönköping University's Academic Ceremony was held with the inauguration of full professors and the conferment of PhDs at the culture hall, Spira. It was a stately and ceremonial event with nearly 400 guests, dressed in ball gowns and formal attire, speeches and live music. During the ceremony, four new professors was inaugurated, three honorary doctors and 29 new doctors were honored.

    On the 7th of May, the decision was made by the President to award three new Honorary Doctorates at Jönköping University. The three honorary doctors are Professor Emerita Dale Clark Farran, Professor Emerita Gwen Sherwood and Professor Andrés Rodríguez-Pose. The awarding will take place at the Academic Ceremony on the 12th of October.

During the upcoming spring, a pilot project will start with the aim of developing the skills of teachers within the field of Theory of Outdoor Education, through research and practical teaching activities.
