KASTHALL ENGAGES ARCHITECT OLA RUNE AS THEIR CREATIVE DESIGN ADVISER
Kasthall, the global design brand, hires a creative design advisor as the next step in its continued development and internationalization.
The choice of creative design advisor fell to famed architect, Ola Rune. He will advise Kasthall’s design team and guide new collection launches, maintaining the brand’s tradition of on trend design collaboration.
Ola Rune is one of Sweden’s most established architects working in the global market. With an extensive knowledge of the textile industry, Ola and his colleagues at architectural firm, Claesson Koivisto Rune, have worked with Kasthall for many years, “so it feels like a natural choice for us,” says CEO Eva Boding.
Ola Rune will work as creative design adviser for Kasthall, and act as a sounding board for the design team. He will also support Kasthall in design work for new collections.
Ola’s excellence within architecture, design and art history, combined with Kasthall’s solid design and product knowledge, will become an important addition to Kasthall’s development after chief designer Gunilla Lagerhem Ullberg passed away in December 2015.

During her 28 years as chief designer, Gunilla left an invaluable imprint on Kasthall’s design, and no one can replace her. Through collaboration with Ola, we are able to cherish this heritage, but also continue to develop our design and innovation momentum,” comments Eva Boding.
With over 125 years of experience, Kasthall has developed a unique craftsmanship that offers tailored rug solutions for all types of rooms, private and public. Since Eva Boding started in February 2015, the combination of design, innovation and her experience from the fashion industry have become an important force for the design brand’s development on the global market.
Over the years Kasthall has served unique customers such as the Royal Palace in Stockholm, Google, fashion houses Chanel and Dior, Hotel Nobis, and exclusive privates homes all over the world. This demonstrates the international position Kasthall holds.

Kasthall has been designing and manufacturing unique woven and hand-tufted rugs since 1889. Our own factory is located since in Kinna, amid the traditional textile area in western Sweden, where the production still occurs. Over the years, Kasthall has become one of the world leaders in the design and manufacture of carpets, and is now represented in 30 countries with a showroom in Stockholm, Milan and New York.
