Press release -

Kasthall's famous Brochure Rug part of this year’s Kasthall collection

The Brochure rug, originally created in the 1990s to show how typical Kasthall patterns and colors could be combined, is now part of Kasthalls standard collection in its original design.

During the 1990s, Kasthall's Head of Design Gunilla Lagerhem Ullberg created a rug to show the endless possibilities of combining colors and patterns within a Kastall pattern family, in this case the so-called Häggå family. The rug was placed on the frontpage of a Kasthall catalogue that same year, thus the name Brochure rug.

“After the rug was shown in the 90s, it has been woven in many different color combinations over the years. So often that the rug has become a hallmark for Kasthall. Therefore, we are very happy that we now can recreate the original rug and make it a part of this year's collection”, says Lena Jiseborn, head of Kasthall Design Studio.

The rug that has lived its own life since the 1990s has simply been named the Brochure rug, as the purpose was not to create a collection rug. A no-name rug that lived on in everyday speech and that would be hard to change today.

“Creating a new name for a Kasthall classic would only create confusion. Therefore, when we chose to recreate the rug, we decided to simply keep the name the Brochure rug”, Jiseborn concludes.

The Brochure Rug in its original version is available for order from Kasthall's retailers.
