NEW LIFE FOR CLASSIC FOGG RUG – IN GOOD COMPANY WITH MATCHING CUSHION COLLECTION

Kasthall is expanding its design heritage by breathing new life into the classic Fogg rug collection, which is being launched in new colors and shapes this fall.

As part of its sustainability work, Kasthall has also developed a related collection of pillows, bringing the Fogg experience to new areas of the home.

Fogg was originally created in 1998 by Kasthall’s award-winning designer and design manager Gunilla Lagerhem Ullberg. The rug, which originally sprung from its sister rug Moss, continues to play a key role in Kasthall’s history and is part of the company’s DNA. The seven new colors in the Fogg collection are inspired by confetti, shifting colors in nature and an interplay between unconventional color combinations – all reflecting contemporary luxury in a flirt with the 70s.

Each size fills a function, from being small decorative elements on the bed to giving a texture- rich touch to the sofa – or used as poufs on the ground. The beautifully mottled pile is about 40 mm long and picks up different colors from its surroundings.

“The shaggy look is delectably luxurious, giving a three-dimensional lift to its surroundings. It’s exciting to see how the rug comes into its own in new shapes and areas of the home. We’re now launching cushions, big, mid-size and small, which look great on the sofa or armchair, and of course on the floor, where Fogg started its career,” says Lena Jiseborn, design manager at Kasthall.

The cushions in the Fogg collection will be available in November 2019.

The Fogg cushions were developed specifically to make use of material left over from the production of rugs. This is in line with Kasthall’s goal to secure a production process that is as sustainable as possible, with utmost consideration for nature’s resources.

To visually emphasize the new Fogg colors, Kasthall collaborated with renowned stylist duo Kråkvik & D'Orazio and photographer Emil Fagander. The series of images showcases the rugs and mats in stunning environments, where great focus is put on allowing the colors and textures to stand out in the new constellations.
