​Kommuninvest issues its eighth Green Bond

Kommuninvest has issued a new SEK 3 billion Green Bond. Among investors that participated in the transaction were Alecta, Länsförsäkringar and SEB IM. Kommuninvest now has SEK 22.5 billion and USD 500 million outstanding in five green bonds.

Tuesday's transaction consisted of a tap to the existing KOMINS 0.625% with maturity in June 2023, which after the transaction has an outstanding volume of SEK 6 billion.

Kommuninvest allocates Green Bond proceeds to so-called Green loans for investment projects aimed at reducing environmental impact. On June 30, 2019, Kommuninvest's portfolio of Green Loans totaled 284 projects in 124 municipalities and regions. A total of SEK 52.4 billion had been committed, of which SEK 35.5 billion had been disbursed.

Kommuninvest expects a continued increase in green lending and to be a frequent issuer of green bonds, in several currencies. Kommuninvest's projected long-term funding needs, over 1-year maturity, amounts to SEK 120-140 billion for 2019.
