Press release -

Kommuninvest issues USD 1 billion in new benchmark bond

Kommuninvest today issued USD 1 billion in a new bond under the USD Benchmark Programme. The bond matures on 2024-11-29.

Investor interest was strong. The order book included 52 investors. The bond was priced 0 basis points above mid-swaps and 26 basis points above corresponding US Treasuries.

This was the second transaction of the year under this programme. At the beginning of March, a new Green Bond was issued in USD. The USD market continues to present good terms and a pricing at approximately the same level as the SEK market.

– This was a positive transaction under favourable market conditions. We are particularly happy with the investor diversification both when it comes to investor type and geographical domicile. In our work to finance welfare investments in the Swedish municipal sector, the USD market plays an important role, says Tobias Landström, Deputy Head of Debt Management at Kommuninvest.

Including this transaction, Kommuninvest has so far in 2021 borrowed around SEK 40 billion. The funding forecast for this year is SEK 120–140 billion.
