[Campus Life] Open Space, Delicious Food, Unbeatable Prices - Our cafeteria “The Commons G”

From dishes that have established themselves in our global consciousness such as Tempura, Sushi or Ramen to the vast amount of regional specialties and trends, Japanese food is without a doubt one of the most flavorful and diverse cuisines in the world. Japanese universities are known for bringing Japanese soul food to their students for a reasonable price, and the Kyoto University of Advanced Science is no different.

One of the largest spaces at Uzumasa Campus is reserved for our cafeteria called “The Commons G”, which features an open-concept modern design with seats for more than 500 students. Not only do we serve a wide variety of Japanese food staples, including Ramen starting at ¥300 or a set meal for ¥500, we are also proud to occasionally collaborate with some of Kyoto’s top restaurants to give our students a taste of some of the best chefs the city has to offer.
