Hatoya Zuihokaku Hotel Awarded Three Stars by The 2016 Michelin Guide: “A Very Pleasant Stay”
Kyoto, Japan – December 16, 2015 – Hatoya Zuihokaku Hotel is proud to announce that it has been awarded three stars by the 2016 Michelin Guide.
Denoting “a very pleasant stay”, the three-star status awarded to Hatoya Zuihokaku Hotel stems from the high quality of service from its staff, which comes on top of the hotel being in a prime location with easy access from Kyoto Station.
After offering more than 60 years of hospitality as a traditional Japanese inn, Hatoya last year was rebuilt into a more modern hotel in a bid to bridge its traditional hospitality with the comfort and facilities of modern times. The efforts of this are proving to be most worthwhile – the 2016 Michelin Guide’s highly coveted three-star ranking coming soon after the one-year anniversary of the rebuild.
“I’m much honored,” says Kazumichi Iwai, CEO of Hatoya Kanko Group. “With easy access to Kyoto Station, Hatoya Zuihokaku Hotel provides a relaxing Japanese atmosphere to a variety of guests from around the globe, which is an element worth of appraisal.” And those guests, Kazumichi suggests, are the source of much of the appraisal – with the hotel boasting a four-star rating on travel review-site TripAdvisor. “This award that Michelin has bestowed upon us doesn’t happen in a vacuum, I believe. So, I’m tremendously grateful to our guests, that they appreciate our efforts, and that they think so highly of us as to help tell the rest of the world about Hatoya Zuihokaku Hotel.”
With the winter cold now here, the Hatoya Group provides a variety of facilities that are sure to offer a terrific getaway from the bitter cold, including natural hot springs that boast spectacular panoramic scenery. Additionally, through Hatoya Kanko Group’s cooperation with many of the shrines in Kyoto, the hotel is allowing visitors to get an even deeper sense of Kyoto. Taking Japanese cuisine to the next level, Hatoya makes available to guests a variety of dining plans, each of which is not only updated to match the season, but also designed to invoke the essence of the respective monuments visited by the visitors.
