New Statewide Program Helps Prepare North Carolina’s Future EMS Workforce

Laerdal Medical is honored to have been awarded the North Carolina Community College System Contract that will support EMS education and workforce development across the state.

WAPPINGERS FALLS, N.Y., July 30th, 2026 – Laerdal Medical announced today that it has been awarded a contract with the North Carolina Community College System (NCCCS) to provide EMS training equipment, and related educational technologies to its member institutions. The agreement gives North Carolina's 58 community colleges streamlined access to training solutions that help prepare future EMS professionals for the realities of patient care.

Through the contract, colleges can implement and expand training using a range of Laerdal education solutions, including a wide range of simulators and manikins, task trainers, Resuscitation Quality Improvement® (RQI®) programs, and SimCapture simulation management system. The goal is to provide students with more hands-on opportunities to practice critical skills and strengthen clinical decision-making in a realistic, risk-free environment. This can help them enter the workforce better prepared to care for patients from day one.

The contract has an initial three-year term with options for renewal and is available for use by participating institutions throughout the North Carolina Community College System.
