Press release -
Taking simulation one step closer reality- Laerdal Medical to acquire VitalsBridge
We are pleased to announce that Laerdal has now acquired the VitalsBridge products from Dynasthetics. This strategic acquisition not only strengthens Laerdal’s product offering but also reinforces its dedication to meeting evolving industry standards and customer expectations.
“We are excited to fully integrate VitalsBridge into the Laerdal Medical portfolio, opening new possibilities to further enhance and evolve the realism of simulation training,” says Eirik Skaar, VP Patient Simulation in Laerdal Medical.
He adds that Laerdal Medical has distributed VitalsBridge products in many markets since 2012, and with the full acquisition, further development and integration will make the full Laerdal Medical solution even more streamlined and adjusted for customers’ needs.
The VitalsBridge meets the need of customers who wish to use their actual clinical monitoring equipment during simulation training by taking the digital vital signs created in the LLEAP or VitalsBridge app and turning them into real signals. Since its initial release into the market, VitalsBridge has undergone several development iterations to become the VitalsBridge4 and VitalsBridge FM (Fetal Monitoring) that is available today.
The VitalsBridge products are acquired from Dynasthetics, based in Salt Lake City, Utah. The company is well known for creating and producing simulation, anaesthesia, and respiratory products.
Co-developing and collaboration
Laerdal Medical has throughout the years had a long-standing commitment to developing innovative simulation solutions that enhance and improve healthcare training, patient safety and quality improvement across all areas of healthcare.
“In areas we have identified needs gaps, we see great value in working with external partners to either co-develop and integrate, or distribute their products, that further enhance, add value, and impact of our simulation offerings to meet specific customer requirements. VitalsBridge is a great example of that”, Skaar adds.
The transition of VitalsBridge manufacturing from Dynasthetics to Gatesville where Laerdal will manufacture VitalsBridge is now underway, with completion anticipated by May 2026. During the transition period, we are committed to minimizing impact to customers who have orders or service needs. The Product Team will provide further information on this shortly including product changes, updates to product labelling, marketing and support materials that will also be completed, reflecting VitalsBridge’s integration into the Laerdal product family.
