JYSK and Lars Larsen Group donate DKK 2 million to Danmarks Indsamling

For the 20th year in a row, JYSK and Lars Larsen Group are supporting Danmarks Indsamling. This year, the two companies once again donated DKK 2 million to help children affected by some of the world’s forgotten crises

Once a year, 12 humanitarian organisations join forces with the Danish broadcaster DR to raise funds to support people living in some of the world’s poorest countries. This year’s theme for Danmarks Indsamling was “children in the world’s forgotten crises.”

JYSK and Lars Larsen Group have contributed to Danmarks Indsamling since the first show in 2007, donating more than DKK 26 million in total.

This year’s donation of DKK 2 million from JYSK and Lars Larsen Group was once again given in cooperation with the Danish Handball Federation DanskHåndbold. For every goal scored in Danish handball arenas during the weekend of 24–25 January, an amount equivalent to up to 15 meals for children in forgotten crises was donated.

In total, 1,705 matches were played and no fewer than 67,377 goals were scored.

“We are pleased with our collaboration with Danmarks Indsamling and DanskHåndbold and through this partnership to help transform all the great goals scored in Danish handball arenas into meals for children living in forgotten crises. When you have the opportunity to help, you should help — that has always been our belief. It’s part of our DNA and something that meant a great deal to our founder, Lars Larsen. We are happy to continue that legacy,” says President & CEO of JYSK, Rami Jensen.

“The work carried out by the 12 organizations behind Danmarks Indsamling is essential for people in need in some of the world’s poorest countries. That is why it is crucial that we, as a group, take responsibility and support where we can. We are proud to once again contribute to Danmarks Indsamling and, through this, help make a tangible difference for children in forgotten crises around the world,” says President & CEO of Lars Larsen Group, Jesper Lund.

Over the past two decades, Danmarks Indsamling has supported more than 241 projects across 3 continents and 52 countries, creating meaningful change for more than 8 million people.
