Lufthansa Cargo Releases 2026/2027 Winter Flight Schedule and Enhances Connectivity in Mumbai

  • Additional intra-Asian and transpacific freighter connections
  • Broader services in India and addition of Navi Mumbai International Airport (NMI)
  • Seasonal capacity increases in North America to New York (JFK), Dallas/Fort Worth (DFW), and Houston (IAH)
  • Larnaca (LCA) and Istanbul (IST) further integrated into the B777 freighter network
  • Kuala Lumpur (KUL) newly added to belly cargo network

Underlining its mission of enabling global business, Lufthansa Cargo presents its new winter flight schedule for the upcoming schedule period, during which customers will have access to 88 freighter routes to 40 destinations worldwide. In particular, freighter rotations in the high-demand Asia-Pacific region have been expanded to include an additional intra-Asian and transpacific connections. Going forward, the company will offer its customers up to 46 weekly freighter rotations to 17 destinations in this region. One addition is the inclusion of Singapore (SIN) in the existing rotation from Frankfurt (FRA) to Taipei (TPE). With this new intra-Asia route, Lufthansa Cargo provides its customers with new network options and main-deck capacity within Asia. The increased frequency on the Trans-Pacific route from Frankfurt via Ho Chi Minh City (SGN) and Shanghai (PVG) to Los Angeles (LAX) - operating 2 out of 7 days - will continue from the summer flight schedule. In addition, the additional flights to Taipei (TPE) and Chengdu (CTU), each departing from Frankfurt, will continue at a frequency of 3 out of 7 days per week. In addition, cargo can once again be transported to and from Almaty (ALA) to Frankfurt. In the business region of Mumbai, Lufthansa Cargo will shift freighter operations to the new Navi Mumbai International Airport (NMI) from today, 12 October, thereby adding another stop to its local network. The main reason for the shift from Mumbai Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (BOM) is an infrastructure upgrade to allow the airport’s expansion to increase capacity and efficiency. With the relocation, Lufthansa Cargo ensures that key industrial and manufacturing hubs in the region remain well connected to international markets, by continuing to offer customers reliable connections to its global network. The Navi Mumbai International Airport (NMI) is located about 30 kilometers east of Mumbai Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (BOM) and began first domestic operations last year. Furthermore, Bangalore (BLR) will also be added to SWISS WorldCargo’s route network to and from Zurich, providing customers in southern India with another European hub and more route options.

The number of American destinations remains unchanged at four South American destinations with four weekly connections and eleven North American destinations. With one additional service each, Dallas (DFW) will be increased to a total of four weekly connections, Houston to three weekly connections, and New York (JFK) to five weekly services.

Within Europe, Lufthansa Cargo offers its customers up to three weekly freighter rotations with the B777F fleet to up to three destinations. The short-term rotations from Frankfurt to Larnaca (LCA), Istanbul (IST), and Stavanger (SVG) are now being permanently incorporated into the regular flight schedule. The previous A321F destinations will therefore continue to be served by long-haul freighters or Lufthansa Group’s extensive passenger network until a new operator is found for the four short- and medium-haul freighters.

There are also new destinations for cargo customers within Lufthansa Group's network: The Malaysian capital, Kuala Lumpur (KUL), will be served five times a week by Lufthansa Airlines. In addition, starting in November, ITA Airways will add Santo Domingo (SDQ) in the Dominican Republic to its long-haul schedule twice a week.

"With the upcoming flight schedule, our network remains one of the strongest to, from, and within Europe. Approximately 7,500 flights to 350 destinations via our six European hubs of Frankfurt, Munich, Vienna, Brussels, Rome and Zurich will continue to be available, offering fast and reliable transport options for Lufthansa Cargo customers. True to our mission, ‘Enabling Global Business,’ we will continue to flexibly align our route network with the needs of our customers and changing business flows,” explains Ashwin Bhat, CEO of Lufthansa Cargo. He adds: “India is one of the strategically important growth markets for Lufthansa Cargo. By connecting also Navi Mumbai, we are ensuring that our customers will continue to benefit from a high-performance infrastructure, reliable capacity, and seamless integration into our global network.”

The winter flight schedule takes effect on October 25, 2026. Freight can be booked starting 21 days in advance, i.e., from October 4, 2026. In addition to its own freighter fleet, Lufthansa Cargo also markets the cargo capacity on passenger flights operated by Lufthansa Airlines, Austrian Airlines, Brussels Airlines, Discover Airlines, ITA Airways, Lufthansa City Airlines, and SunExpress.
