With an image quality that is constantly improving and an increasing number of models offering optical zoom, smartphones are becoming more and more useful for YouTubers, vloggers and other demanding content creators.
The new Zhiyun Smooth Q2, a motorized 3-axis stabilizer for smartphones, not only allows steadier video recordings with a smoother and more professional look. It also adds lots of creative possibilities to the filmmaking, thanks to special effects such as Vortex Mode, Dolly Zoom, timelapse and object-tracking.

Quick assembly
Zhiyun Smooth Q2 is compatible with most smartphpnes on the market, including large premium models with attached case. For example, iPhone 11 Pro Max and Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus. The adjustable holder can be set to a maximum width of 85 mm and also works with the phone used in vertical format, perfect if you want to shoot movies for Instagram. Thanks to a cleverly designed quick release latch, it also takes just a moment to mount or remove the phone.
Smooth Q2 is made of strong and durable aluminum alloy and has a comfortable handle with soft silicone coating to give the best possible grip. A large and easy-to-use joystick on the back of the handle makes it easy to operate the gimbal.
Mobile filmmaking on a new level
Together with the Zy Play app, Zhiyun Smooth Q2 gives you access to a range of special features that takes your mobile filmmaking to a whole new level.
Following Mode stabilizes shakes but allows larger movements so you can aim the camera however you like while Pan Following Mode keeps the horizon straight at all times. Lock Mode locks the gimbal in a desired direction so that the camera is constantly pointing at your subject, no matter how you move. Full Range POV Mode allows all movements, including tilting the camera, so that viewers get a sense of presence and can follow every step of your adventure. Vortex Mode adds an extra dimension to action scenes by rotating the phone 360 degrees around the camera's axis.
Smooth Q2 also provides advanced timelapse features and a mode for panoramic photography. With the help of the app, you can even film with a so-called Dolly Zoom or Vertigo effect, where the smartphone's zoom is used to create a sense of "falling-away" from the subject. A dramatic effect used in many classic Hollywood productions!
All day battery life
The powerful lithium-ion batteries in Smooth Q2 provide an operating time of up to 17 hours. Charging is fast and after only 3 hours the gimbal is ready for new assignments. It can also act as a power bank and used to charge the smartphone's battery so you don't have to worry about running out of power before the filmmaking is over.
