Skellefteå city in Sweden is focusing on more biogas from Malmberg!
Malmberg will build a new facility for biogas upgrading to Skellefteå municipality in Sweden. In addition to a Malmberg Compact GR 6 upgrade facility the contract include gas holder, high pressure compressors and decompressors. The plant will be put into operation until summer 2018.
It is the biogas part of Tuvan's waste water treatment plant in Skellefteå, which has been modernized with a brand new pre-treatment plant, with the result that the amount of household waste can be doubled. This provides new opportunities for increased production for automotive gas to be distributed via a pipeline from the Malmberg Gas Upgrading Unit.
Total investment is approximately 100 million SEK. For investments in the gas plant at Tuvan, the gas pipeline and the tank station at the factory, Skellefteå municipality receives 16 million SEK from Klimatklivet - an investment support for climate-friendly measures from the Swedish Environmental Protection Agency.
The new plant will be able to produce approximately 2.1 million Nm3 of vehicle gas per year. This corresponds to a reduction in carbon dioxide emissions by 6 tonnes per year. Or gasoline consumption for 1,400 passenger cars per year.
