Siemens Mobility and Morrow Batteries ASA explore LNMO battery applications

Morrow Batteries ASA (“Morrow”) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Siemens Mobility (SMO) to explore collaboration on advanced lithium-ion battery technologies.

The agreement outlines cooperation on Morrow’s LFP and upcoming LNMO cell technologies, including information exchange, joint testing, and supply of sample cells, with the possibility of a long-term supply agreement following successful validation.

Morrow is building sustainable battery production in Norway with its first LFP Gigafactory in Arendal and plans to launch cobalt-free LNMO technology in 2027/2028, powered by clean hydropower and targeting NMP free production processes. For SMO, the cooperation opens opportunities to potentially use these batteries in future Siemens applications, while securing access to European-made battery technologies.
