Press release -
Morrow Batteries and JR Energy Solution launch electrode foundry partnership for the European market
Morrow Batteries ASA ("Morrow"), an independent European leader in LFP and LNMO cell technology, and JR Energy Solution Inc. ("JRES"), a global forerunner in the battery electrode foundry model, have entered into a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to establish high-performance electrode foundry services in Europe.
Announced at InterBattery Korea 2026, the partnership unites two complementary strengths: JRES's proven electrode foundry model and expertise in scaling next-generation chemistries, and Morrow's advanced 1 GWh manufacturing infrastructure and proprietary LFP and LNMO cell technologies. Together, the companies will offer a foundry-ready solution for European battery manufacturers seeking high-quality, locally sourced cell components with accelerated time-to-market.
The collaboration brings together Morrow's multi-chemistry manufacturing capabilities and infrastructure at its Arendal facility with JRES's established electrode foundry framework and commercialisation expertise. Together, the parties aim to build a scalable European hub for high-performance electrode foundry services, advancing joint business development and long-term commercial growth.
"The European market is at a critical inflection point where speed-to-market and manufacturing yield are everything. By partnering with Morrow, we are shortening the supply chain for our customers while accelerating the industrialisation of next-generation chemistries like LMR and LNMO. We are not just signing an MoU — we are building the infrastructure that will power the next decade of European battery innovation", says Duke Oh, CEO of JR Energy Solution.
"Our 1 GWh factory is designed to be flexible and industrially robust — purpose-built for medium-mix, medium-volume production. Partnering with JRES allows us to expand into the electrode foundry business while bringing our LFP and LNMO technologies to a broader global market through a partner with proven commercial reach”, says Jon Fold von Bülow, Co-founder and Interim CEO, Morrow Batteries.
