Press release -

Fair Binary Options Stops Promoting Unregulated & Unlicensed Binary Brokers

The FBO Media Ltd announced its intention to promote solely regulated binary options through its affiliate website  FairBinaryOptions.com. The FBO Media will stop promoting unregulated binary options brokers in order to protect traders and strengthen the business model that relies on providing help to defrauded customers.

The decision follows a series of DDoS (Distributed Denial of Service) attacks that were executed against their websites after an article on fairbinaryoptions.com alerted the public of a potentially dangerous unregulated broker.

The FBO Media intends to promote only regulated and authorised brands in order to contribute to the investors’ protection in safe investment environment. Through the years there has been one persistent characteristic of brands that engage in unethical behaviour towards customers - these have been unregulated brands. Taking into account the fact that unregulated brokers are the ones that take part in most of the cases of fraud, the FBO Media decided to stop promoting any brand without a license from the respective governmental authority. These changes will be implemented during October with the hope of raising overall awareness of the customers and the industry.

On Monday, the September 5, the FBO Media blacklisted one binary broker after reliable sources reported that they were refusing payments to an affiliate. From the experience, this usually indicated that the broker may be close to running out of money and that they are beginning to spend money deposited by customers for their operations. FBO Media reacted and reported the story which was later also published by several other affiliate websites.

Following this, all Fair Binary Options saw DDoS (Distributed Denial of Service) attacks on their websites which left them unreachable for customers for some time. A Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attack is an attempt to make an online service unavailable by overwhelming it with traffic from multiple sources. Within hours, FBO Media websites were receiving up to 20 billion requests which made it impossible to load them in the Internet browser. While no-one can claim with certainty that the two events are related, the fact that the timing of attack closely followed the release of the article does suggest that FBO Media network was targeted because it published an article that was potentially damaging to the said blacklisted broker.

FBO Media is a network of 18 affiliate websites in 15 languages that promotes binary options trading. The mission of the company is to promote only safe binary options brokers while helping customers that have been defrauded while trading binary options. Since the company was founded, FBO Media websites have placed more than 80 binary options brands on their list of unsafe and potentially harmful services
