MUNCH is pleased to present a major exhibition by celebrated German artist Katharina Grosse, known for her immersive, large-scale works that transform architecture, landscapes, and interiors into vibrant fields of colour. For this exhibition Grosse will create a new body of work, in dialogue with Edvard Munch and his artistic legacy.
Bright summer evenings, sunbathers on smooth rocks, and melancholic sunsets set the mood as girl in red’s music meets Edvard Munch’s vibrant paintings. In the exhibition girl in red & Edvard Munch: Norwegian Summer at MUNCH, a unique, immersive atmosphere is created, where sound and image, light and darkness, joy and melancholy interact.
This weekend, visitors were able to step inside a work of art rather than simply observe it. At MUNCH, the XR experience ÅTERFÖDELSEN / REBIRTH was presented, where music, poetry, spatial sound and technology merged into a physical and digital experience developed by Silvana Imam and Paula Strunden.
