Nautrik enters into a strategic partnership with Nimbus Group for autonomous maritime systems

Nimbus Group AB has entered into a framework agreement with Nautrik AB for the production and assembly of autonomous uncrewed surface vessels (USVs). As part of the partnership, Nimbus Group has delivered the first batch of vessels, which have successfully completed the planned acceptance and verification tests.

Nautrik develops autonomous maritime systems for defence and security applications. The partnership combines Nautrik’s expertise in autonomous maritime control systems incorporating AI for multi-unit coordination with Nimbus Group’s industrial manufacturing capacity, marine engineering expertise and proven ability to produce advanced maritime platforms in Sweden. Nimbus will support Nautrik with the manufacture, assembly and integration of maritime systems as the partnership develops.

The partnership has already resulted in the delivery of the first batch of vessels, which have successfully completed the planned acceptance and verification tests. These results validate both the technical solution and the industrial collaboration between the companies, marking an important milestone in the partnership.

“This agreement is a strong endorsement of Nimbus Group’s capabilities beyond the leisure boat market. We see growing demand for advanced maritime platforms for defence and security applications. Our industrial expertise, production capacity and extensive experience in building high-performance boats make us a strong partner in this sector. The successful delivery and testing of the first vessels demonstrate both the capability of the solution and our ability to industrialise and manufacture advanced maritime platforms in Sweden. We look forward to deepening our cooperation with Nautrik and supporting future growth in this important market,” says Johan Inden, CEO of Nimbus Group.

“Nimbus is the cornerstone of our robust and sustainable Swedish supply chain. As demand for validated and proven autonomous maritime systems continues to grow, having a manufacturing partner that combines extensive maritime expertise with industrial scalability is essential. Nimbus Group has broad capabilities in design, engineering, production and support throughout the product lifecycle, alongside the flexibility and production capacity needed for future growth. Its proven ability to deliver advanced maritime solutions in Sweden, including projects for government customers, made Nimbus a natural partner for us. The successful initial deliveries and tests further confirm that we have chosen the right industrial partner,” says Oscar Fors, CEO of Nautrik.

This partnership supports Nimbus Group’s strategic ambition to expand its presence in professional and defence-related maritime applications, complementing its established position in premium leisure boats. Nimbus Group sees growing opportunities in defence, security and other mission-critical maritime sectors, where operational reliability, industrial scalability and proven manufacturing expertise are key to success.
