NEFF Hits the Three-Million Mark - Slide & Hide® Oven Proves Itself as a Kitchen Star!

All good things come in threes… million! On February 28, 2024, the three-millionth Slide & Hide® oven was produced at the NEFF plant in Bretten, Baden-Württemberg. For over 20 years, the innovative mechanism has provided more space for creative expression in the kitchen. The highlight is the fully retractable oven door, which disappears completely and quietly into a compartment beneath the cooking chamber when opened — a technology that remains unique to this day and is available exclusively from NEFF.
First one, then two, now three: The home appliance brand NEFF is ringing in the new year with a special milestone. At the end of February, the three-million mark for Slide & Hide® ovens with fully retractable doors was reached! “A success we are incredibly proud of, and one to which our fantastic production team here in Bretten contributes every single day,” says Thomas Baumeister, head of the NEFF plant. “It’s great to know that our Slide & Hide® ovens are enabling so many people to find more joy and creativity in cooking.”
From zero to three million: Slide & Hide® has been a trend for 20 years
In 2002, this ingenious idea made its debut — though initially, the system could only be installed in compact models (45 cm) because the oven door itself required a 15-cm compartment to slide into. In 2014, NEFF finally introduced its patented oven door in the standard 60 cm oven size. From that point on, the cooking cavity was just as large as in any other oven. Since then, sales have skyrocketed: NEFF reached its first million in 2017, and the second followed as early as 2020.
With the launch of the new NEFF Collection in fall 2023, which also introduced the world-first Flex Control, the Slide & Hide® oven recently experienced another significant upswing.
“The flexibility in operating our ovens—either via touch or twist—has taken our portfolio to a whole new level and, of course, given the Slide & Hide® appliances a new platform. The feedback from the industry has been and continues to be fantastic—making it all the more gratifying that we can celebrate this special milestone today. We are particularly proud that all appliances are ‘made in Germany’,” says Marco Tümmler, Board of Management member of NEFF Germany.
Since 2023, the NEFF Collection has featured Slide & Hide® technology with a soft-close function. This allows the oven door to open and close with a gentle, cushioned motion, further simplifying operation. In addition, for the first time in the new NEFF Collection, the oven handle, side trim, and Twist Pad Flex® can be selected in four different colors. Thanks to Flex Design, kitchen design has never been more personalized!
