New opportunity in the US

After 14 years of operation, NGI Houston is expanding into other market areas in the US by acquiring an advanced soils laboratory in Houston.

NGI's consulting and expert services have always been in demand from the offshore oil and gas sector in the US. With the acquisition of the reputable C&C Soils Laboratory in Houston, NGI will be able to meet the increasing demand for geotechnical expertise, advice and engineering – for example in the market for offshore wind installations in the US.

"NGI Houston will take over all geotechnical laboratory facilities and present employees, and will furthermore gather all geotechnical services under one roof in Houston. NGI's offices in Houston will relocate and merge with the laboratory in their present facilities. This relocation will take place by the end of 2016," says Victor Taboada, President, NGI Houston.

Strengthened presence in the US

By acquiring the C&C Soils Laboratory, NGI will now offer a comprehensive solution of geotechnical engineering services locally in the US. This will ensure swift and effective access to geotechnical tests of the highest international quality for our clients in the US market.

"At NGI we know that a laboratory is much more than a set of advanced equipment. Our laboratory technical staff and engineers in both Houston and at our main office in Oslo, Norway, are core to the success and quality we provide. Our experience and competence within our laboratories allows us to handle complex testing programs and challenging materials for our clients and partners in the US and the rest of the world," says Lars Andresen, Managing Director, NGI.
