NGK INSULATORS, LTD. (hereinafter "NGK") is exhibiting the EnerCera® Battery, an innovative power source for IoT devices, which will help realize the New Normal Society.

The EnerCera battery is a compact, thin, high energy density, high power lithium-ion rechargeable battery with high heat resistance characteristics.

For the electronica virtual show, variety of EnerCera battery sizes will be on display. NGK will introduce a maintenance free IoT device concept, using the EnerCera battery together with Wireless Power Transfer (WPT) and energy harvesting technologies. Furthermore, applications videos will show how EnerCera batteries can be used with Electronic Shelf Label (ESL), smart card, real time tracking sensors, wearable devices and many others.

NGK develops high heat resistance lithium-ion battery achieving an operating temperature of up to 105°C

NGK INSULATORS, LTD. has successfully raised the maximum operating temperature of its coin-type "EnerCera Coin" (part of the "EnerCera®" series) battery up to 105 degrees Celsius. Sample shipments are currently underway, with mass production scheduled to begin in September 2020. The battery’s potential applications primarily include automotive and industrial IoT devices.

NGK to Commence Mass Production of Coin-type Cell in the Chip-type Ceramic Secondary Battery “EnerCera” Series of New Power Sources for IoT Devices Adding the world’s first high heat resistance-type cell

NGK INSULATORS, LTD. announced that it will commence mass production of “EnerCera Coin,” a coin type cell in the “EnerCera” series of power sources for IoT devices, in December. NGK further announced that it has successfully developed a new high heat resistance type cell that is the world’s first* lithium (Li)-ion secondary battery capable of operating at 85 degrees Celsius.

NGK INSULATORS, LTD. announced that its Zinc rechargeable battery acquired the world’s first UL verification mark in the battery energy storage systems field as a result of testing by UL, an independent global safety science organization in the United States. NGK has realized a safe and large-capacity battery energy storage system optimal for indoor installation by its unique ceramics technology.
