NGK Selected as “Supplier Engagement Leader,” the Highest Rating, in CDP Supplier Engagement Assessment
NGK INSULATORS, LTD. (hereinafter “NGK”) has been selected as a Supplier Engagement Leader, the highest rating in the fiscal 2024 CDP Supplier Engagement Assessment. The selection was made by CDP, an international non-profit organization that operates an environmental information disclosure system.
CDP is an international non-profit organization that discloses environmental data obtained from companies and municipalities, evaluating their activities related to climate change, water security, and forests. CDP holds environmental data from companies and municipalities worldwide. In 2024, approximately 24,800 companies, a record-high number of organizations, disclosed environmental data through CDP. The Supplier Engagement Assessment reviews how companies address climate change challenges in their entire supply chains. Only 1,394 companies worldwide have been selected as Supplier Engagement Leaders.
In the NGK Group Environmental Vision, which was formulated in April 2021, the NGK Group aims to contribute to achieving carbon neutrality, a circular society and harmony with nature through its business activities. As one of the steps to achieve these goals, NGK has set targets for visualization and reduction of Scope 3 emissions*1and stepped up these initiatives, as well as working with suppliers to build a sustainable value chain. NGK believes that selection as a Supplier Engagement Leader is the result of these initiatives being highly rated internationally and will continue to accelerate efforts to realize a carbon-neutral society.
NGK also received the highest rating as an “A List” company in CDP Water Security for 2024*2. NGK Group will contribute to the attainment of a sustainable society as a company that promotes the future of energy, global environmental protection, and industrial development.

Scope 1: Direct emissions of greenhouse gases by the reporting company (generated from industrial processes or the burning of fuel)
Scope 2: Indirect emissions of greenhouse gases by the reporting company resulting from the use of electricity, heat, or steam supplied from other companies
Scope 3: All other indirect emissions of greenhouse gases (not included in Scope1 or 2) that occur in the reporting company’s value chain
