New Executive Leadership Team Announced for NG Nordic, the Combined Company of NG Group and Fortum Recycling & Waste
"Our new Executive Leadership Team reflects our strengthened position as the leading Nordic provider of circular solutions and environmental services, with ambitions to accelerate and pioneer circularity together with our customers and partners", says CEO Bjørn Arve Ofstad.
At the end of 2024, Summa Equity completed the acquisition of Fortum Recycling & Waste, through NG Group.
Fortum Recycling & Waste and NG Group are coming together under the new name NG Nordic. The company will implement its new operational model with the new Executive Leadership Team and launch a unified brand at the start of the second quarter of 2025.
"The team brings extensive experience from the waste and recycling industry, with diverse backgrounds and competencies from across the Nordics, bringing fresh perspectives on pioneering circularity. I am confident that we together will succeed in achieving our ambitions", says Ofstad.
The new Executive Leadership Team consists of:
- Bjørn Arve Ofstad: Chief Executive Officer
- Espen Krey Brettås: Chief Financial Officer
- Runa Opdal Kerr: Chief Impact Officer
- Andreas Lindström: Chief Strategy Officer
- Lin Cathrine Austbø (interim): Chief People & Organization Officer
- Kalle Saarimaa: Chief Operating Officer & Executive Vice President for the business area focusing on removing hazardous substances from circulation and providing scaled solutions to industrial customers
- Kari von Ubisch: Executive Vice President for the business area focusing on waste collection, treatment, and recycling solutions for all types of customers
- Are Strøm: Executive Vice President for the business area focusing on construction reuse and sustainable demolition
- Toni Ahtiainen: Executive Vice President for the business area focusing on scaled access to circular raw materials through advanced circular solutions
