NIIS CEO Ville Sirviö elected to the Gaia-X board of directors

On Monday, 5 June 2023, the Gaia-X Ordinary General Assembly convened, bringing together the association members to vote on critical aspects of the Gaia-X European Association for Data and Cloud AISBL.

Gaia-X represents the next generation of data infrastructure: an open, transparent, and secure digital ecosystem where data and services can be made available, collated, and shared in an environment of trust.

One of the key highlights of the Gaia-X assembly was the election of a new board of directors, highlighting the importance of this event in shaping the future direction of Gaia-X.

Ville Sirviö, the Nordic Institute for Interoperability Solutions CEO, was elected to the board of directors with 25 other candidates representing the Gaia-X members from all over Europe.

"I'm committed to developing Gaia-X so that there is mutual trust in the project and its role in Europe. Let's make Gaia-X a key enabler for European interoperability, data sharing, and collaboration!" says Sirviö.
