Schleswig-Holstein signs partnership agreement with the Nordic Institute for Interoperability Solutions
Schleswig-Holstein in Germany has entered into a partnership agreement with the Nordic Institute for Interoperability Solutions (NIIS), marking a significant step in the international digital cooperation of NIIS.
The partnership underscores Schleswig-Holstein's commitment to co-developing cutting-edge technologies like X-Road®, a secure data exchange layer developed by NIIS, to improve digital infrastructure and foster cross-border cooperation.
The partnership agreement allows Schleswig-Holstein to access NIIS expertise, participate in thematic discussions on future developments, and join working groups addressing key challenges in digital public infrastructure. The cooperation with NIIS will benefit Schleswig-Holstein by strengthening its digital society while aligning with global interoperability standards.
“Schleswig-Holstein is thrilled to partner with NIIS to advance our digital government infrastructure. Collaborating on X-Road and other innovative digital solutions is a critical step toward creating a more efficient, citizen-focused digital society”, says Dirk Schrödter, Minister of Digitization of the State of Schleswig-Holstein.
“We warmly welcome Schleswig-Holstein to the NIIS family of digitally advanced governments. Their engagement demonstrates the request for interoperable digital government solutions, and we are excited to work together. Also, we look forward to having Schleswig-Holstein as a full member of the institute in the future”, says Ville Sirviö, the CEO of NIIS.
