SL Controls Merges with NNIT

The merging of NNIT Group Company SL Controls into NNIT was initiated in May, and plans are in place for completion by year-end 2024.

SL Controls, a leader within manufacturing system integration and smart manufacturing, will be merged into NNIT’s Region Europe, thereby joining the existing NNIT Manufacturing and Supply Chain organization in Europe.

The new strengthened regional unit will be positioned to offer customers the full range of business consulting and IT services. These services will support end-to-end life sciences production from business consultancy and advisory, to implementation of critical manufacturing execution systems, through to the efficient integration and validation of manufacturing data streams as well as packaging and delivery.

“Joining forces with NNIT will further enhance our service offering to meet our customers’ global requirements for fully integrated solutions across the operational technology and information technology layers,” comments Keith Moran, CEO of SL Controls.

Senior Vice President, Ricco Larsen, NNIT Europe adds: “Starting back in 2017, we accelerated our capability scaling to be able to service most parts of the life sciences value chain, including Manufacturing and Supply Chain. With the successful acquisition and now integration of SL Controls – as well as Excellis Health Solutions – we have created a life sciences manufacturing stronghold to enable ‘the life sciences factory of the future.’ Today, we have the capabilities to provide services for fully integrated and digitalized production. We are continuously aiming to fortify our position as an internationally leading digital transformation partner within life sciences – rooted in our profound insight into the industry, our global presence and reach as well as the continuous strengthening of our solutions and service offerings to all parts of the life sciences value chain. Since the acquisition, SL Controls has been a key component in our ambitions – and with the merger, we will further unfold our great potential together.”

Strengthened position in Europe – and Ireland

The merging of SL Controls into NNIT will be completed by year-end 2024, adding a total of +120 employees primarily based in Ireland (Sligo, Dublin, Limerick and Galway) and a small office in Florida (Jacksonville), USA. The addition of SL Controls will significantly strengthen NNIT’s reach in Europe and, not least, Ireland – a key international hub for the life sciences industry.

“Ireland has emerged as a preferred location for many of the pharma greats with years of work being put into attracting pharma investments, and many of the key engineering staff working globally while being based in Ireland. The potential Ireland holds for global growth outward in the pharma industry is not to be underestimated,” Keith Moran finishes.

Facts:

NNIT in Europe offers IT solutions and services covering most parts of the life sciences value chain. The Region employs +400 people with +200 being dedicated to the Manufacturing and Supply Chain domain. Revenue for Region Europe in 2023 was DKK 465 million.
