Dato 2. januar 2023 00:00 – 31. desember 2025 00:00

Full title: Energy Minerals for the Net Zero Transition (Havbunnsmineraler - akselererer energiomstillingen)

Project management: Adepth Minerals AS v/Dr. Anette Broch Mathisen Tvedt, +47 975 62 768

Project partners: UiB, NTNU, UiT, NORCE, Future Materials Norwegian Catapult Centre, Akvaplan-niva, NOV, Aanderaa, DeepOcean, Shearwater, AkerBP, Seabed Solutions, Geoprovider, GCE Ocean Technology

Funding: The Research Council of Norway, Innovation Norway, Siva

Main goal: Establish the basis for an integrated value chain for deep sea minerals with far smaller environmental footprint than current mining operations.

We will:

  • Develop and pilot key technologies, methods and concepts that demonstrate solutions along the entire value chain for a responsible and sustainable exploration and exploitation of deep sea minerals.
  • Accelerate the acquisition of knowledge of deep sea resources and the environment and answer questions related to establishing an industry that can supply critical materials
