Akvaplan-niva at Arctic Frontiers 2026

We are proud to have contributed to the establishment of Arctic Frontiers that annually gathers scientists, policymakers, industry, indigenous groups and civil society. The title of the 2026 edition of the conference "Turn of the Tide" points to the ongoing environmental and geopolitical changes and challenges in the Arctic. As previous years we will contribute to both the Science, Side-event and Young programs of the conference.

Managing Director at Akvaplan-niva, Merete N. Kristiansen, is also the Chair of the board of Arctic Frontiers. She will hold the Opening Remark at a reception for the Emerging Leaders and also host two partner breakfasts; with Norwegian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Espen Barth Eide and with the Danish chairmanship of the Arctic Council (2025-2027).
