This week Akvaplan-niva, the Norwegian Institute for Water Research (NIVA) and Plymouth Marine Laboratory (PML) arranged a workshop in the Lake Urmia project. The workshop presented Lake Urmia's coupled hydrodynamical and biogeochemical modeling results as well as provide some educational material.

The 4 hour workshop attraced 78 participants. The keynote speakers were:

Akvaplan-niva has led an international project to provide a holistic review of the environmental status of Lake Urmia, Iran in terms of hydrodynamic, biogeochemical, and ecological aspects and deployed two sets of fully digitalized observatory platforms to measure over 30 physicochemical parameters and communicate online to the end user. The project has resulted in a book that is published in Spri
