Bulk and CTS Expand Co-operation
(Oslo, 5 September 2023) CTS Nordics has signed an agreement for manufacturing and warehouse facilities in Holmestrand, Norway, to be constructed and owned by BulkIndustrial Real Estate. The agreement is an expansion of the co-operation between the companies, as CTS Nordics was selected by Bulk Data Centers in June 2023 to further develop Bulk’s campus in Kristiansand, Norway.
CTS Nordics is the leading Nordic design and build contractor for sustainable data centers.
Bulk Industrial Real Estate is part of Bulk Infrastructure Group, a Nordic industry builder, owner and operator of sustainable businesses in areas such as warehousing and logistics, data centers and fiber infrastructure
“We are delighted to expand our partnership with CTS Nordics. The new building will be constructed using our proven Bulk Module, providing maximum flexibility, scalability and an efficient and sustainable building process. It is a fascinating partnership where we now enable our partner CTS Nordic to strengthen their supply chain so that they can become an even stronger contributor to our rapidly growing data center business”, said Jon Gravråk, CEO of Bulk Infrastructure Group.
The manufacturing and warehouse facility will be constructed at Hanekleiva Business Park in Holmestrand municipality and will house more than 300 employees. The plot is 33,000 sqm and is already owned by Bulk. The building will be 16,500 sqm, including office space of 3,500 sqm. Conditional on approval of the plans by the authorities, building will start this fall and CTS Nordics will move in by August 2024.
The facility will house CTS Nordics subsidiaries NordicEPOD, Gapit Nordics and GT Nordics and will be used for production related to CTS Nordics projects. The new production facilities will support the increasing demand that CTS Nordics is experiencing within data center development.
“CTS Nordics and Bulk share the same commitment towards developing a sustainable and resilient digital infrastructure. When we needed space for manufacturing, warehousing and offices, our partner Bulk was an easy choice. With this establishment, likely the first of many to follow, we establish a local supply chain with initially more than 300 high capability jobs to support the growth of the Nordic data center industry”, said Filip Schelfhout, CEO of CTS Nordics.
