    NO-UK fiber cable installation operations commenced

    Installation of the 700-kilometer-long submarine fiber cable started at Green Mountain’s data center today. This new cable route connects the west coast of Norway with Newcastle and will significantly increase data capacity between Norway, the UK, and the rest of the world.

  • The new subsea fibre cable will be connected to the Euroconnect-1 fibre ring.

    Subsea Fibre Cable between Norway and UK - Landing at Green Mountain

    A fibre consortium consisting of Green Mountain, Lyse, and other partners announced that they will build a new subsea fiber cable connecting Norway to the UK. The cable landing station will be located in Green Mountain’s data center outside Stavanger on the west-coast of Norway. This 700 km long NO-UK cable will be completed in 2021 and strengthen Norway as an attractive data centre location.
