UNIT - The Norwegian Directorate for ICT and Joint Services in Higher Education and Research - and Taylor & Francis Group, one of the world’s leading academic publishers, today announce the signing of a three-year partnership, beginning in 2020.
Providing long-term stability and certainty over access and costs, this transformative deal ensures researchers from UNIT’s 23 Norwegian institutions can publish their research open access and have continued read access to the Taylor & Francis and Routledge portfolio of journals, stretching across science, technology, medicine, social sciences, and humanities.
This ‘read and publish’ agreement enables consortia members to focus on working with academics in Norway to advance and support their research objectives, in the knowledge their reading and publishing needs are secure.
Roar Olsen, Director General, UNIT, says: “We are pleased to have reached an agreement with Taylor & Francis that meets our requirements for transition agreements, and will enable Norwegian researchers to read and publish in the majority of Taylor & Francis journals. Taylor & Francis join a range of other major publishers in new transformative agreements that will make Norwegian research openly available.”
“We will continue to innovate and evolve our approach to ensure sustainable publishing models for the long-term, working with partners to develop models that continue to support the advancement of knowledge through our publishing output and uphold consistently high standards across every article and publication in our portfolio.” says Christoph Chesher, Group Sales Director, Taylor & Francis Group.
